What is Casa Sulà’s teaching methodology?
Casa Sulà is inspired by the experience of the prepared environments from the Experimental Center Pestalozzi in Ecuador, didactic resources from Maria Montessori, the research of Jean Piaget and many scientific and neuroscience studies.
Casa Sulà was co-created by Grupo Orion, educators who have more than 30 years of experience in this revolutionary paradigm, in conjunction with several parents from La Ecovilla.
What is the school schedule?
School begins at 8 am and ends at 2 pm each Monday through Friday. Children and young adults must attend all 5 days of the week (Casa Sulà does not offer reduced schedules).

- Semillero 1, for children ages 3-7.
- Semillero 2, for children 7-13.
- Semillero 3, for young adults from 13-18.
How do the children in Casa Sulà learn to read and write?
Children in Casa Sulà learn to read and write through many different games and materials that are offered starting in Semillero 1, which the kids have access since they are 3 years old. They learn in an integral manner in their own time in a relaxed natural way.

At the beginning of each term during the months of January and July.
Is food provided by Casa Sulà as part of the monthly fee. Or children need to bring food from home?
Snack and lunch are included in the monthly fee, but we always recommend the children bring a snack.
Eating is a very social activity, and especially younger children love to sit and socialize often upon arriving at Casa Sulà. Sometimes they share what they bring, other times they just like to seat and eat a small snack brought from home.
Can Casa Sulà accommodate their menu in case of food allergies?
Our menu is mostly organically grown and vegan, in addition to accommodating to specific food allergies.
How often do we have a family meeting with the pedagogical team?
Once per term or more if necessary.

An appointment is always required to visit us.
Is housing available for families?
There are various rental properties and homes for sale in neighboring communities.
Additionally, there is housing for one family to live at Casa Sulà for a deep immersion into the learning methodology.
One parent will need to be with their child at all times while they are in the classrooms at Casa Sulà, which offers the entire family a rich and expansive learning experience.
